With JBM and our dear Pogo collaborating in the living room, I whipped up some salsa verde in the kitchen. Today, the house is productive!

Our boy sits back to regard his work: writing his own name for the first time.

So the "a" has an unusual aspect to it... Still, I was impressed. We have a writer (of sorts) on our hands.

If snacking in your sleep is not a sign of vacation indulgence, I don't know what is. JBM was so sleepy we had to cheer him on to finish that bite before drifting off. Life is rough.

This is Rudy, the boy's newest vacation pal. Last year, it was his pleasure to order the pooch around. This year, he's so nice to the dog that Rudy even comes when called sometimes. Hm, just like JBM.

Headed East for a while; feel like waving bye-bye.

Today was another SoCal scorcher. I thought I would take the boy and his pal to a nice shady park (see the canopy?), but there was little shelter to take. Still, the wee ones played their strange games...

 I don't know how it started. By the time I got close enough to take a picture, J was looking out from his post proclaiming, "I am the best of ma'am."

Then C took a turn announcing that she is the best of ma'am. They did this, by turns, for a few minutes.

I don't know who is the best (or the craziest), but I can say that they were very fun to hang out with on a sun-filled morning.

To escape the heat yesterday, we Miss R. at Under the Sea. I think
they look cute together. I am SO biased.

It is summer. And so there is a layer of sand covering everything in our lives. Fortunately, J was ready with his yellow shovel to rescue our feet today.
